PHYSICAL SCIENCE
(Meets Wed and Thu 3-3:30pm (3-4pm for 3+ students)
General Overview: Physical Science is designed to be a hands-on, minds-on course of study that emphasizes skills necessary to succeed at the intermediate level and to prepare students for High School Science Courses. Students are expected to complete a new module/chapter every 2 weeks. This course is designed to support lessons done at home using a curriculum of your choice. Our program supplements your curriculum with virtual and hands on labs and materials from Apologia, Glencoe, McGrawHill, and Holt. This course may be taken individually or as a group.
Course Overview:
This fun 2 sessions course is a hands-on journey through chemistry and physics. Students will have the opportunity to construct structures, make projects, and do experiments to have a better understanding and a strong foundation of basic principles needed to succeed in high school chemistry and physics. Lessons will introduce topics such as elements, atoms, electrons, solutions, periodicity, chemicals, metals, non-metals, forces, energy, Newton’s 3 laws of dynamics, the solar system, and earthquakes. Lessons include homework. Possible textbook: Apologia, Glencoe, Holt Curriculum. Target grade: 7-9.
